Northern Ireland mortgage adviser Sheena Campbell, founder of Campbell Financial NI, was named Adviser of the Year – Mortgage Advice at the VouchedFor Client Experience Awards 2026, held at the Royal Lancaster London on 7 May 2026.
The award recognises the experience clients receive from their advisers, making it a particularly meaningful achievement for Sheena, who has spent years building her reputation through client recommendations and reviews.
Having received VouchedFor Top Rated recognition for several years, Sheena was familiar with the awards scene. But this time, she wasn't particularly expecting to come home with anything.
"I was really looking forward to a few nights in London with Orin. We had plans to see the Billie Eilish film and visit the pop-up shop in Camden, so I thought the awards would be a nice part of the trip. I genuinely wasn't expecting to win!"
The evening was hosted by magician and entertainer Ben Hanlin, with attendees from across the financial advice profession.
For Sheena, one of the nicest parts of the occasion was having her husband, Orin Campbell, there alongside her. Orin is also a director of Campbell Financial, and it was the first time he'd accompanied her to an awards ceremony.
"I've always gone to these events on my own before, so it was really nice having Orin there. He's part of the business too, and it was lovely getting to share the experience with him."
Unlike the regional Top Rated recognition she'd received previously, the Adviser of the Year – Mortgage Advice award had one overall winner.
And this time, that winner was Sheena.
The VouchedFor Client Experience Awards recognise financial professionals for the experiences they provide to their clients, using independently collected feedback.
For Sheena, the recognition reflects something she's always considered important about mortgage advice: clients should understand their options and feel confident in the decisions they're making.
"One of the things I'm good at is being able to identify a problem quite quickly, work out whether there's a solution and explain the different ways we might approach it. I want people to feel confident that I know what I'm doing, but also understand what's happening with their own mortgage."
Mortgage applications aren't always straightforward. Income arrangements, credit histories, existing financial commitments and individual lender requirements can all affect what's possible.
Being an experienced mortgage adviser isn't about promising that every application will succeed. It's about understanding the circumstances, recognising potential difficulties early and knowing how to approach them.
That's particularly important for clients who have previously been told they might struggle to get a mortgage, or who simply don't know where to start.
Sheena's VouchedFor Top Rated 2026 report recorded 233 reviews and an overall rating of 5.0 out of 5, as of June 2026.
Across years of client feedback, certain themes appear repeatedly: clear explanations, straightforward advice, professionalism and the reassurance of having somebody knowledgeable guiding the process.
In a review from November 2022, one first-time buyer described leaving meetings feeling informed and in control.
More recently, a client reviewing Sheena's advice in March 2026 highlighted her ability to simplify complicated information while maintaining a friendly, professional approach.
It's a combination Sheena works hard to get right.
A mortgage can be one of the biggest financial commitments somebody makes, but that doesn't mean the advice needs to be intimidating or unnecessarily complicated.
At Campbell Financial, the aim is to explain the options, identify potential problems and help clients understand the reasoning behind the recommendations they receive.
Sometimes that means finding a suitable route where the circumstances initially look difficult. Other times, it means being upfront about what's not currently possible and what might need to change.
Either way, clients deserve an explanation they can actually understand.
Sheena founded Campbell Financial NI after building her career in mortgage advice, with the aim of providing a more personal, straightforward approach to mortgages and protection.
The brokerage works with clients across Northern Ireland, including first-time buyers, home movers, remortgagers, self-employed applicants and people whose circumstances don't necessarily fit neatly into a lender's standard criteria.
While the VouchedFor award is an individual achievement, it also reflects the approach to client experience that Sheena has built into Campbell Financial.
And after an unexpected win in London, there was still the small matter of getting the award home.
One of the photographs from the trip shows Sheena standing on the platform at Lancaster Gate Underground station, award in hand.
Not quite the traditional glamorous awards photograph, perhaps, but a fairly fitting end to a trip that was originally supposed to involve a bit of Billie Eilish and a few nights away.
Campbell Financial provides mortgage and protection advice to clients across Northern Ireland, whether you're buying your first home, moving, remortgaging or dealing with circumstances that make getting a mortgage a little more complicated.
